Cockatoo Island

On his last full day staying with us this time round, we took Grandad along on a trip into Sydney to discover some more of a glistening Sydney Harbour.

We stepped back in time to the bad old days of convict barracks and the glory days of metal ship building at Cockatoo Island.

Up to 500 men at a time endured unimaginable conditions in this place

Listening to the audio tour was addictive
